What you can complain about
The Parliamentary Ombud can receive complaints concerning state, municipal, and county public administration.
You can complain to the Parliamentary Ombud if you believe you have been subjected to mistakes by an administrative agency.
Your complaint can concern:
- that your case has been handled incorrectly
- that you have not received a response from the administrative agency
Most types of cases handled by public administration may be the subject of complaints, including:
- planning and building
- social security and pensions
- health and care services
- social assistance and child welfare
- taxes and duties
- immigration cases
- access to public information
- police and prosecution authority
- business, agriculture, and reindeer husbandry
- correctional services
- the Armed Forces
In addition, the Parliamentary Ombud handles complaints about long processing times. In some cases, we also handle complaints about long processing times.
How does the Parliamentary Ombud prioritize?
We review every complaint we receive, but we have limited capacity and are not able to investigate every case.
The Parliamentary Ombud’s resources must therefore be used for tasks that best help prevent injustice.
